Kidney and urinary tract cancer

Kidney cell cancer is a disease whereby malignant cells are found in the lining of the kidney tubules (tiny tubes).

For their part, urinary tract cancers appear in the cells lining the urinary system. The most common symptoms would be: blood in the urine, a lump in the abdomen, constant pain on one side, weight loss for no apparent reason.

One of the priorities of all people working at Onkologikoa is to ensure that the patient knows what lies ahead of them from the very beginning. Keeping them properly informed on how our team of specialists will treat their kidney and urinary tract cancer. Curing and accompanying the patient go hand in hand.

Treatments for this kind of cancer

Laparoscopic radical nephrectomy

When carrying out a radical nephrectomy, the urology surgeon removes the whole kidney, often together with a number of additional structures, such as part of the tube connecting the kidney to the bladder (ureter) or other nearby structures, like the suprarenal gland or the lymph nodes.
Sometimes a partial nephrectomy is carried out, only removing the diseased kidney tissue.
